About Betapak
How It All Began
Betapak Ltd. was formed in 2007 to take over family-run Island firm Beta Pak. The business sold a large range of packaging items - including cartons, polythene bags, paper bags and padded envelopes - and was dedicated to offering a very high level of service to its Island business customers.
The new proprietors soon realised they could be doing even more for their customers, who were not happy about having to waste time dealing with multiple suppliers to get the essential items they needed. The customers wanted to buy all of their envelopes in one place, preferably all of their stationery as well.
We have been a Betapak customer for some time and get a vast range of products from them. Betapak always have everything we need.
— Mark Tutty, MD, Top Mops Contract Cleaning
At this time, local business Medina Office Supplies became available for sale and Betapak realised that merging with this business would make a huge difference to their customers, as they would be able to meet all of their packaging needs AND all of their stationery and office furniture needs in a simple one-stop supply solution.
This was exceptionally well received by Island businesses and customers began to ask whether Betapak might be able to supply their cleaning and janitorial supplies as well! With this in mind, Betapak was able to acquire Total Hygiene Supplies in 2008 to merge with the existing business. Now, with just one phone call, businesses could order their cleaning materials, first aid kits, brushes, bins and lighting needs, along with their stationery and packaging requirements. This offered real time savings, but customer demand didn't stop there.
Many Betapak customers are cafés, restaurants, hotels and care homes, and as such they also need to buy catering items such as crockery, glassware, tea, coffee and soft drinks. It therefore seemed a great next step for Betapak to acquire Island Tea & Coffee Co. and Island Packaging, a leading supplier of catering disposables, in 2009. This offered yet further time and cost savings to customers who could now buy virtually any consumable need for their business from just one source, delivered the same or next day.
